Job Summary

Install, support, and maintain technology products for the heavy earth moving and mining industry. Be stewards of our clients’ success by helping to optimize existing technologies and consult on potential new technologies. Ensure support agreements are maintained and executed in a professional manner through skilled technical application and product training.  Develop an open line of communications with key operational and management personnel that ensures a successful relationship with our clients. Assist account mangers and product support reps with the sale and promotion of technology products. Demonstrate professionalism and technical expertise that helps Sitech Southwest and Empire Machinery maintain their status as leaders in the application of technology and ensures maximum market share.

Essential Functions

  1. Provides client support for all CAT and Trimble technology products and related systems.
  2. Performs basic trouble shooting skills for digital and analog electronic components, electrical wiring and related mechanical systems.
  3. Assists with the installation of technology systems and products.
  4. Provides end user training on relevant technology products and related systems
  5. Assists the client in the translation of data generated by technology products into usable information
  6. Manages system installations, commissioning, training, and support of all SITECH’s mining technology products.
  7. Understands client operations in order to identify applications for potential technology solutions.
  8. Interfaces technology products with clients’ high speed radio network.
  9. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Works with clients to develop preventative maintenance plans for technology products.
  2. Develops client relationships that inspire confidence and trust and result in clients looking to SITECH for technology solutions.
  3. Maintains open communications and works collaboratively with manager and team members.
  4. Travels out of town for days at a time and works occasional weekend.
  5. Trouble-shoots digital and analog sensors, electronic components, electrical wiring, and mechanical mounts.
  6. Collaborates with other internal members of the client coverage teams.
  7. Works within and promotes corporate values.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  1. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Networking, software installation, Registry editing, Hardware specification analysis, IP Protocols.
  2. Understands analog and digital sensors and their application and utilization to augment GPS data.
  3. Understands electrical circuit theory and be able to read complex electrical schematics.
  4. Ability to use a multi-meter and test for voltage, current, and continuity.
  5. Advanced level of understanding of Global Positioning Systems.
  6. Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge.
  7. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to build relationships and work effectively on a team.
  8. Ability to work with limited supervision on a daily basis.
  9. Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance.
  10. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Education and Experience

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Must have one or more of the following:
    1. Associate’s degree in electrical, computer or information technology
    2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Level 1 Technology Product Engineer
    3. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in one or more relevant technical areas of expertise. Relevant technical areas of expertise include: relational databases, business intelligence reporting, outdoor wireless networking, GPS site survey, electrical and electronic systems, project management, customer relationship skills
  3. Able to Achieve MSHA certification.
  4. Must complete site specific training and pit driving, as it pertains to contracted site.
  5. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
