Job Summary

Primary duties include operate truck and trailer, pick-up and delivery of power generation rental equipment. Repair, service, inspect and prepare rental equipment for delivery. Set-up of equipment and accessories at job site including electrical cable, air hose, water hose and electrical panels. Instruct customer on safe and proper operation of equipment. Communicate information regarding equipment condition, problems and recommendations. Maintain delivery and pick-up schedule.

  • Class A CDL required
  • Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days of hire

 

Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities

  1. Operates loads and prepares equipment to be hauled.
  2. Ensures all loads are properly prepared, loaded and secured to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while enroute.
  3. Accurately logs time and hours of equipment use.
  4. Prepares, maintains and submits all required reports, logs and forms such as trip logs, manifest and time cards.
  5. Checks the manifest against all material picked up or delivered at each stop.
  6. Performs a thorough check of the truck before and after each stop.
  7. Complies with all Federal ICC, DOT, state and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations for over-the-road driving of trucks.
  8. Reports any hauling equipment operation trouble noticed during each trip.
  9. Maintains pickup and delivery time schedules.
  10. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repair work on equipment as directed by supervisor.
  11. Gives full, courteous cooperation and prompt service to customers.
  12. Maintains company equipment – keeps in good clean orderly condition.  Reports repair or replacements needs to supervisor.
  13. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
  14. Maintains company equipment by checking fuel, oil, water, tires etc on truck and equipment before starting.
  15. Prepares before and stow away after each trip (chains, blocks and gear).
  16. Gathers information from a walk around inspection and reports to customer/management.
  17. Prepares the Drivers Inspection report – completes daily.
  18. Communicates orally and in writing information regarding equipment condition, problems and recommendations.
  19. Maintains current MSHA card if work area requires.
  20. Provides on-the-job training as assigned.
  21. Works overtime as needed.
  22. Travels to remote locations as needed.
  23. Communicates with proper individuals to clarify instructions or discuss scope or progress of job.
  24. Must accomplish training and serve as a Green Belt in support of EMPIRE's Six Sigma program.
  25. Works within and promote corporate values.
