Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Coordinate between the customer, contractors and Power Systems to ensure engine equipment application, startup and transfer to the customer is done in an expeditious manner. Maintain customer satisfaction while managing project profitability through engineering reviews, site audits and regular communication. Ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and timely. Act as a Power Systems technical resource in the field for the Sales department. Promote confidence in Empire's ability to deliver a premium customer experience in addition to a high quality premium product.

Essential Functions:

1. Communicates with customer and contractor on all engine and allied equipment being furnished.
2. Performs regular jobsite visits and meetings to review site conditions, discuss and define areas of responsibility, clarify all issues and to ensure accurate scheduling of project related activities.
3. Acts as Empire representative onsite during all equipment deliveries.
4. Conducts pre-startup audits of site conditions and equipment installation prior to releasing service technicians to the site.
5. Performs post-startup audits of jobsite to verify accurate completion of service scope of work.  Documents and communicates all discrepancies.
6. Creates documents and communicates detailed scope of work for all required service work onsite.
7. Coordinates service schedule with customer, contractors, service departments, and Commercial Engine Project Manager.
8. Performs basic equipment startup procedures and testing.  Assists service department on major startups and testing.
9. Conducts customer required training on the proper operation, maintenance and testing procedures of all installed equipment.
10. Acts as Empire's technical liaison between Commercial Engineer, Commercial Engine Project Manager and the customer and contractors.
11. Identifies opportunities for presentation of change orders to customer and provides information to Commercial Engine Project Manager or Account Manager, as necessary.
12. Identifies and communicates all application and installation concerns.  Communicates concerns back to Sales Department personnel for required resolution and future issue prevention.
13. Works safely at all times.  Adheres to all applicable safety policies.  Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.
 

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Technical training and mentoring of Commercial Engine Project Managers and other personnel.
2. Assist Commercial Engine Project Managers with controlling costs and managing adherence to budget.
3. Must be willing and able to take initiative and control in an effort to protect the interests of Empire and our customers.
4. Must be willing to continually learn new products, features, maintenance and installation of equipment.
5. Attend sales and project meetings as scheduled by supervisor.
6. Review Account Manager quotes and Bill of Materials to help ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
7. Assist Commercial Engineer in completion of all required submittal or O&M documents.
8. Must be willing and able to travel throughout Empire territory and stay overnight when required.
9. Works within and promotes corporate values.
 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Extensive knowledge of power generation equipment and its applications, including commercial, industrial and marine engine and gensets.
2. Ability to understand, interpret, enhance, create and explain electrical, mechanical and architectural engineering drawings.
3. Ability and knowledge sufficient to identify potential equipment problems in the field.
4. Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Automatic Transfer Switches and Switchgear.
5. High degree of communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers, vendors, and influence others.
6. High degree of technical competency in electrical and mechanical application.    
7. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
 

Education and Experience:

1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
2. Minimum 10 years of engine and generator installation and maintenance experience.
3. Minimum 10 years of experience in the service, sales and parts of power generation equipment.    
4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
