Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Create and maintain a climate that results in successful rental, parts and service sales.  Work closely with support personnel to create and maintain a strong, team driven effort towards customer service. In this role you will be responsible for growing and maintaining Empire's relationship with assigned clients for all assigned verticals including rental, parts and sales. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Educates customers about (EPS) capabilities. 
  2. Answers customer questions about company services, warranty adjustments, parts return, credit and finance, and rentals. 
  3. Presents Empire’s strengths and capabilities to the customer.      
  4. Knows the various warranties offered.  Make effective use of programs such as Parts Exchange, Planned Component Replacement.
  5. Stays informed about new product offerings, sales techniques and service updates.
  6. Maintains and increases percentage of total sales with each assigned account. 
  7. Knows customers and territory well enough to predict each customer’s trend for the coming year. 
  8. Achieves marketing goals established with the Commercial Service Operations Manager.
  9. Assists assigned customers in all EPS areas including billings, warranty, purchases, and tours of the facilities. 
  10. Expedites parts and service to customers in remote or outlying areas.
  11. Assists in administration of service merchandising programs such as Wear Analysis, and General Engine Maintenance Contracts. 
  12. Works safely at all times.  Adheres to all applicable safety policies.  Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Continually look for new and better ways to market EPS services and products.
  2. Control all expenses within guidelines as outlined by policy.
  3. Keep EPS management personnel current on all competitive activity in assigned territories. 
  4. Relay any pertinent sales and rental information to Commercial Engine Sales Engineers. Submit complete and timely reports.
  5. Visit new prospects and add new accounts.  Meet sales control customer contact requirements. 
  6. Maintain up-to-date customer call lists and other records.
  7. Attend sales and special meetings.
  8. Perform other duties as directed by management.
  9. Must accomplish training and serve as a Green Belt in support of Empire's Six Sigma program.
  10. Works within and promotes corporate values.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to assist customers and employees in a professional manner.
  2. Must have sales skills to effectively help the customer, overcome objections, and close the sale.
  3. Must be well organized to efficiently handle job duties and make effective sales presentations.
  4. Must have sufficient engine, generator and switch gear knowledge to understand customer's equipment problems and to express these problems to the appropriate people at Empire Power Systems.
  5. Must have strong written communication skills suitable for transmitting detailed technical proposals.
  6. Must be able to identify parts and their related areas on the equipment merchandised by Empire Power Systems.
  7. Must have personal computer skills necessary to manage database applications and Microsoft Excel applications.
  8. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Previous commercial engine service and parts experience.
  2. Previous experience solving technical problems on the products sold and serviced.
  3. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  4. Must have valid driver’s license.    
  5. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
