Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Receive, locate and manage all incoming warranty parts from all locations.  Correspond with CAT and other vendors on requested parts returns.  Manage warranty parts inventory to ensure location of any requested part.  Prepare shipping documents and return parts to vendors as requested.  Maintain warranty parts inventory records and purge un-requested parts within 60 days of claim date.  Keep the warranty parts area organized and clean.  Submit warranty claims as time permits.

Essential Functions:

  1. Receive Parts from all stores that have been charged against warranty – validate them as possible warranty return.
  2. Manage incoming parts – physically locating and entering location in the DBS system for tracking and management.
  3. Manage correspondence with branch stores, CAT, AGCO and other vendors.  Including email communication and pulling parts return requests from the CAT system and paper copies from other vendors.
  4. Retrieve parts from locations as requested,  properly tag, prepare shipping paperwork and ship to CAT and other vendors.
  5. Track Shipped parts and reply to vendors as needed.
  6. Scrap outdated parts that were never requested within  60 days of claim to vendor, update in the DBS system.
  7. Enter warranty claims when time permits.
  8. Maintain, organize and clean up the warranty parts hold area in the South yard.
  9. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Learn and use Empire, CAT and allied vendors computer systems.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized work area
  3. Communicate with CAT engineers, service technicians and lead people.
  4. Make recommendations for improvement in systems and work areas
  5. Operate Forklift safely
  6. Work overtime as needed.
  7. Must accomplish training and serve as a Green Belt in support of Empire's Six Sigma program.
  8. Work within and promote corporate values.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of DBS and Lotus Notes
  2. Skills to comprehend receiving tags and shipping documentation.
  3. Appropriate manner, conduct and grooming to adhere to company policy.
  4. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
  5. Organization skills to locate and manage incoming parts and information
  6. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. 1 year experience in shipping and receiving .
  3. Computer experience in data entry and reporting
  4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
