Schedule Days : Monday - Friday 

Pay Range: $18.06  -  41.78 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

Perform HVC/HVOF thermal spray operations as required. Perform all basic measuring, grinding, masking, coating, and straightening operations. Inspect incoming work and complete related paperwork. Safely operate: lathes, grinders, straightening press, grit blasting booth, and related thermal spray equipment. Safely perform the chrome removal process. Apply HVOF coating and grind or polish as required. Straighten rods in the press to within manufacture’s tolerance. Perform equipment maintenance and utilize micrometers to inspect components. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform all basic measuring, grinding, masking, coating, and straightening operations.
  2. Inspect incoming work and related paperwork
  3. Operate Lathes, Grinders, Press and Metal Spray equipment
  4. Safely perform the chrome removal process
  5. Accurately apply the HVC spray coating with customer set ups and grind or polish
  6. Straighten Rods in the Press to within manufactures tolerance
  7. Perform equipment maintenance
  8. Operate micrometers
  9. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Handle incoming customer calls.
  2. Open and close work orders.
  3. Complete paperwork associated with the shipping of jobs.
  4. Locate information on pricing
  5. Give quotes on jobs
  6. Set up programming on machines
  7. Measure and inspect products accurately
  8. Own and maintain required personal tools needed for maintenance of equipment and performance of job duties
  9. Must accomplish training and serve as a Green Belt in support of Empire’s Six Sigma program.
  10. Work within and promote corporate values.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. General machinist skills
  2. Basic computer skills
  3. Ability to read prints
  4. General maintenance skills
  5. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Experience running Lathes and Grinders
  3. Experience in skills such as Indicating, Inspections, and Micrometers.
  4. Be proficient in MDSI software
  5. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
