Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Support, troubleshoot, and maintain Trimble and Cat technology products and solutions for the construction industry.  Provide technical application and product training to new and existing clients.  Maintain good communications with key operational and management personnel that ensures a successful relationship with our clients.  Assist Account Managers and product support reps with the sales and promotion of technology products.  Help promote SITECH Southwest and Empire as a leader in the field and ensuring maximum market share by promoting the team concept through professionalism and technical expertise.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides customer support for all CAT and Trimble technology products and related systems.
  2. Indentifies sales opportunities for our customers in the area of technologies; reporting recommendations to the Sales Account Manager.
  3. Performs basic trouble shooting skills for digital and analog electronic components, electrical wiring, and related mechanical systems.
  4. Assists with the installation of technology systems and products.
  5. Works safely at all times and makes safety the highest priority.  Complies with all company and customer policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures preventative maintenance for technology equipment is maintained per customer contract.
  2. Develops a relationship that leads our customers to ask us for assistance in solving their technology needs through our expertise and willingness to exceed their expectations.
  3. Maintains open communications with manager and team members.
  4. Travels out of town for days at a time and works occasional weekends.
  5. Work within and promote corporate values.

Additional Level Requirements

Technology Products Engineer II: Auto CAD experience or equivalent course work. Must have an advanced level of understanding of Global Positioning Systems and its theory. Must understand analog and digital sensors and their application and utilization to augment GPS data.

Technology Products Engineer III: Advanced mechanical knowledge including CAT Machines. AutoCAD experience. Experience in the use of GPS Machine Control systems. Must understand analog and digital sensors and their application and utilization to augment GPS data. Thorough understanding of GPS surveying methods.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must have strong computer skills to include e-mail, Microsoft Office,  software installation, hardware specification analysis, 1 year minimum Survey Experience is required
  2. General understanding of analog and digital sensors and their application and utilization to augment GPS data.
  3. General understanding of electrical circuit theory and be able to read electrical schematics.
  4. Must be able to use a multi-meter and test for voltage, current, and continuity.
  5. General understanding of Global Positioning Systems and its theory.
  6. Must have basic mechanical skills and knowledge.
  7. Must be able to work as a team player.
  8. Have the ability to work with limited supervision on a daily basis.
  9. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Survey Experience using Trimble Technology is a Plus
  3. Grade Checking Experience Using Trimble Technology is a Plus
  4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
