Job Summary

Empire, an authorized Caterpillar dealer, is looking for a talented Sr. Graphic Designer to join one of the top family-owned companies in Arizona. As the primary Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for both creative development and production design of all campaigns across multiple brands. You will collaborate with our fast-paced marketing team on a range of projects including presentations, web graphics, email, promotional items, signage, and print collateral – with an emphasis on campaign materials, brochures and in-house publications. The ideal candidate is high-energy with the ability to implement established brand guidelines while still innovating and pushing design boundaries.

Essential Functions

  1. Works with marketing department and may meet with internal clients to determine marketing and communication needs.  Develops 2-3 concepts of possible visual solutions and gains consensus from internal clients prior to developing complete designs.
  2. Reviews project requirements, evaluates creative need, and initiates the creative development to meet client goals and objectives.
  3. Responsible for meeting deadlines, designing, editing and publishing documents as well as obtaining necessary approvals under tight deadlines and within budget.
  4. Prepare print-ready files, obtain print quotes and work with printers to assure print quality and delivery of finished job on time. Interface with printers, complete all necessary production activities, and attend final print checks when appropriate.
  5. Works with the marketing team and/or vendors to assist in the design and maintenance of websites, brochures, collateral materials, logos, videos, presentations, point of purchase/retail signage, and digital marketing.
  6. Applies brand standards, integrates corrections/recommendations and rework orders to achieve total satisfaction.
  7. Coordinates and secures art from internal and external resources while adhering to prescribed budgets.
  8. Works safely at all times.  Adheres to all applicable safety policies.  Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Be a team player and be willing to work flexible work hours as events or special projects dictate.
  2. Take digital product and site photographs and performs color corrections and image editing.
  3. Maintain and archive the image library.  Repurpose and format files according to project requirements.    
  4. Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and creative best practices.
  5. Manage and record assigned work in project management program.
  6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  7. Works within and promotes corporate values.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  1. Strong graphic application knowledge and skills in Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  2. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  3. Understands and able to use Macintosh and PC based systems.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with high volume of on-going projects and very fast turn-around times. 
  6. Ability to simulatenously work on multiple projects.
  7. Excellent design and typography skills with demonstrated conceptual ability.       
  8. Highly creative thinker who can thrive in a fast-paced environment; self starter with a positive attitude.
  9. A quick learner and willing to take on new training and skill sets, as needed.
  10. Strong attention to detail, problem solving and internal communications.
  11. Open and receptive to constructive feedback and able to make multiple rounds of revisions to meet client needs.
  12. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. BA in Graphic Design or similar degree.
  3. Minimum 3 years experience in graphic design work
  4. Experience working in an Agency preferred.   
  5. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
