Pay Range: $44,460.00  -  $75,140 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing machine appraisals.  

Essential Functions:

  1. Inspects, checks and appraises machines. Plans and conducts machine appraisals. 
  2. Assists the  Used Machinery  Manager  to  maintain  and improve present  methods and  standards  of  used  machinery  repair, evaluation, and merchandising. 
  3. Reports appraisal findings to sales managers.
  4. Accompanies sales representatives.  
  5. Coordinates appraisal schedule and requests for appraisals.
  6. Assists EMPIRE sales people and customers to select equipment for each application.
  7. Develops and presents appraisal training at sales meetings to improve sales force product knowledge and Empire’s market share.
  8. Provides technical expertise and support to improve the products sold and serviced by EMPIRE.
  9. Assists in reviewing stock inventory specifications to assure that the machine inventory is current and meet the majority of our customers’ needs.
  10. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Must be willing to learn and be knowledgeable about competitive as well as CAT equipment.
  2. Must be   willing to comply with all company policies and procedures including grooming standards and safety rules.
  3. Must have in depth knowledge of CAT products and applications as well as competitive and allied products.
  4. Must have basic math skills sufficient for calculating cost and percentages.
  5. Must be  able to operate all equipment sold by EMPIRE and similar  competitive equipment
  6. Must be familiar with company policies and procedures relating to customers, sales, and services.
  7. Extensive knowledge   of machinery   repairs and   competitive machinery.
  8. Assist in operating and presenting computer programs to sales people and customers.
  9. Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  10. Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.

  1. Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  2. Technical skills sufficient to be able to work through product issues.  Must have mechanical aptitude.
  3. Must be able to travel.   Must have ability to maintain consistent attendance.
  4. Must have professional interpersonal skills to cooperatively work with   people and to effectively perform machinery demonstrations.
  5. Must be highly competent and experienced in the effective and safe operation of Caterpillar machinery.
  6. Must have working knowledge of the EMPIRE Caterpillar and competitive product line including model designations and equipment applications.
  7. Must have a working knowledge of machinery customers and their operations.
  8. In-depth knowledge of the entire Caterpillar product line and applications, customers and their operations, and the operating department functions within EMPIRE.
  9. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Minimum of 2-years experience in a job related field.
  3. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English
