Pay Range: $39,990.00 - $75,140
Job Summary:
Assist Empire’s walk-in customers and prospects. Generate sales leads to refer to appropriate personnel. Initiate marketing programs to develop sales leads. Participate in customer events.
Essential Functions:
- Handle all walk-in customers and prospects.
- Generate and manage qualified leads. Pass on qualified leads to appropriate personnel to pursue the opportunity.
- Provide Sales Support. Close deals when appropriate.
- Initiate marketing programs, ie. Telemarketing, direct mail, from UCC’s, assigned, unassigned accounts.
- Manage and participate in customer events, ie. Demo days, customer tours, etc.
- Search and identify rental opportunities.
- Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Host outlying area customers in Mesa to inspect machines/repairs already quoted by an Account Manager.
- Maintain an understanding of basic operation and applications for Caterpillar and Allied products.
- Become proficient in the use of the Empire Quoting Systems.
- Become proficient in the use of the Caterpillar Infocast website to secure technical specifications and performance of all Caterpillar products.
- Maintain an understanding of the merchandising programs, the use of “T” value and/or finance terms to be able to accurately quote payments over the phone or while meeting with a customer.
- Work within and promote corporate values.
Additional Level Requirements
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Sufficient computer skills to utilize Empire’s internal and external software programs.
- Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to work cooperatively with people and to execute sales transactions.
- Must have working knowledge of Caterpillar and competitive construction equipment model designations and application.
- Must comprehend equipment specifications, price lists, catalogs and common industry publications and reference material.
- Must have effective, pleasant verbal communication skills.
- Must perform common sales calculations quickly and accurately, and be familiar with financing, taxes, etc., of products.
- Must have ability to develop working knowledge of wholesale and retail used equipment markets.
- Must have ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of entire Caterpillar product line and applications.
- Must have ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of Sales Dept. policies and procedures.
- Must have ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of EMPIRE’s operating department’s functions.
- Must have ability to develop and in-depth experience in capital sales.
- Must have ability to develop the mechanical aptitude sufficient to relate to mechanical applications, failures, etc.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
Education and Experience:
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
