Job Summary:

POSITION LOCATED IN HENDERSON, NEVADA.

Manage Assigned Used Machine repairs when they are rented or leased, and on a customer job site.  Solve machine problems for customers and salespeople.  Ensure Sales Department equipment is repaired in the most cost effective manner.

Essential Functions:

  1. Reviews machine applications.
  2. Directly assist customers to resolve lease and rental equipment problems.  Solve problems to the customer's satisfaction.
  3. Investigates and resolves machine accident, machine damage and suspected machine abuse situations.
  4. Maintains Assigned Product Family of Corporate assets that are rented or on lease to a customer
  5. Determines extent of repairs needed.  Acts as a liaison between sales related shop personnel and service related shop personnel. 
  6. Communicates with internal departments and authorize repairs.  Control repair costs.  Reviews work orders for Sales Department new, rental and used machines. 
  7. Handles and resolve Service Department related problems. 
  8. Ensures that machines have all required Safety items in place and functioning, and that both Empire employees and customers are aware of and are assisted in any way needed to insure safe operation and repair of machines.  
  9. Works safely at all times.  Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews Repair-After-Rent (RAR) expense on machines or family of machines, with repair percentages above present company goal, as selected by Sales Management. 
  2. Reviews Down Machine Report, concentrating on Assigned Product Family. 
  3. Visits assigned rental shops on a schedule set by the Rental Manager.  Inspect machines in yard and on customer job sites. 
  4. Reviews open Field Service and Mining Work Orders for Assigned Product Family. 
  5. Acts as gatekeeper for Capitalization Accounts of Assigned Product Family.
  6. Reviews Sales Policy on monthly basis. 
  7. Works within and promotes corporate values.

Additional Level Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must have interpersonal skills to effectively assist people and maintain positive, professional customer relationships.
  2. Must be able to manage the Sales Department's equipment repair needs. 
  3. Must have math skills sufficient for calculating costs and percentages.
  4. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Must have extensive experience on Caterpillar equipment repair methods and technical data.
  3. Must have mechanical aptitude sufficient to understand equipment applications, mechanical failures, etc.
  4. Extensive machinery parts, service, and repair experience.
  5. A minimum of 5 years mechanical supervision experience.
  6. Must have 10 years prior or current employment at a Caterpillar dealership or experience managing an equipment fleet.
  7. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
