Pay Range: $49,430.00  -  $84,520 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

Assist Empire’s walk-in clients and prospects and generate sales leads to refer to appropriate sales personnel.  Initiate sales fliers and promotions for all used machine purchases and target aged inventory to help develop sales leads.  Support other sales related functions such as marketing initiatives, inventory maintenance, appraisal coordination, and freight management.

Essential Functions:

  1. Handle all walk-in clients and prospects.
  2. Analyze, generate and manage qualified leads.  Pass on leads to appropriate sales personnel to pursue the opportunity.
  3. Manage and maintain daily and weekly inventory marketing initiatives with Empire Market Dept. and all outside marketing publication vendors.  Both online and print ads.
  4. Manages and maintains Used Equipment Key Indicator Report
  5. Initiate Sales Promotions for all used machine purchase’s new arrivals and targeted aged inventory.
  6. Manages and maintains Eloy daily activity in SalesLink.
  7. Search and identify used machine purchase opportunities.
  8. Maintains Used Equipment (UE) request database and matches buyers with machines
  9. Manage and maintain incoming freight for all used machine purchases.  Include requesting and receiving freight quotes, scheduling freight for the machine purchased, and managing costs in comparison with freight quotes requested and received.
  10. Provides a main point of contact for Used Equipment Appraisal Specialist.
  11. Provide sales support with the direction of assisting Account Managers with closing deals.
  12. Acts as a liaison between Empire and CAT Financial Services and CAT Used Equipment Services Inc.
  13. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Host Clients in Eloy to inspect machines/repairs already quoted by Account Manager.
  2. Maintain an understanding of basic operation and applications for Caterpillar, Non-Cat Products, and Attachments.
  3. Become proficient in the use of Empire Work orders, Service Spy programs.
  4. Maintain an understanding of all shipping and receiving for all machines and attachments for Eloy store operation.
  5. Maintain an understanding for the service process for all used machines and attachments coming through Eloy.  Understand this process from start to finish.
  6. Become proficient in the use of Empire Used suite of tool on Empire Intranet.
  7. Become proficient in the use of Caterpillar SIMSi (Service Information Management System)Catused.com.
  8. Become proficient in the use of the Caterpillar Infocast website to secure technical specifications and performance of all Caterpillar products.
  9. Maintain an understanding of the merchandising programs both with Empire and Cat Finance.  Proficient with the use of “T” value and /or finance terms to be able to accurately quote payments for sales promotions.
  10. Work within and promote corporate values.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Sufficient computer skills to utilize Empire’s internal and external software programs including Microsoft Office products.
  2. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to work cooperatively with people and assist in executing sales transactions.
  3. Must comprehend equipment specifications, price lists, catalogs and common industry publications and reference material.
  4. Must perform common sales calculations quickly and accurately, and be familiar with financing, taxes, etc., Must have ability to develop working knowledge of wholesale and retail used equipment markets and an in depth knowledge of entire Caterpillar product line and applications.
  5. Must have the ability to develop the mechanical aptitude to relate to mechanical applications and failures for Caterpillar construction products and work tools.
  6. Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  7. Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. 4 year college degree preferred, 2 year college degree or equivalent experience  required.
  3. Minimum 3 years Caterpillar Dealer or closely related industry experience preferably in Sales/Service .
  4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
