Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Manage the Machinery Rental Sales and Operations departments. Provide leadership and vision for the departments in alignment with the machinery rental department and corporate mission and objectives. Develop and maintain excellent employee experience, client experience, onboarding, and continuous training. Oversee client retention, new client acquisition and be fiercely competitive. Achieve rental revenue and Percentage of Rental Revenue Opportunity (PRRO) targets. Manage expense control, time and financial utilization, physical inventory control, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacture alignment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide broad sales and operational day-to-day support.
  2. End to end ownership of Client Relationship Management (CRM), accounts receivables relationship management, and client experience.
  3. Support the sales and operations team with process improvement ideas and drive collaboration with continuous improvement (CI) department.
  4. Drive standardization of business information data entry in support of reporting and strategic analysis.
  5. Help define weekly, monthly, and quarterly objectives for sales team.
  6. Enhance sales productivity by simplifying processes and evaluating new tools. Drive the consistency, velocity, and accuracy of a rental transaction.
  7. Partner with Sales, Marketing and CI departments to continuously grow and refine the lead generation pipeline, client acquisition, client retention, and the end-to-end rental sales functions.
  8. Track sales and operational metrics and deliver regular insights back to the business. Define and deliver techniques that drive improvement.
  9. Refine client segmentation and assist with territory management.
  10. Ensure that revenue goals are met or exceeded for the Rental department.
  11. Ensure that proper support is provided to all rental locations (safety, people, process, equipment and technology).
  12. Ensure that monthly inventory is conducted in each store to maintain accurate inventory records and decrease lost.
  13. Analyze financial statements and make recommendation on areas of improvement.
  14. Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
  15. Work safely always. Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain outstanding client relations. Set a proper example of excellent inter-company cooperation.
  2. Participate in Rental department strategic planning sessions to prepare for future operations and growth.
  3. Aid in maintaining system accuracy for rental agreements, rental invoicing, and inventory control.
  4. Work within and promote corporate values.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. College degree preferred but not required.
  3. Current driver’s license required.
  4. Previous management experience in a Caterpillar Dealer Rental Department.    
  5. In depth knowledge of client operations, Empire organization and functions, and Caterpillar and Allied product line.
  6. Ten years heavy equipment rental experience. 
  7. Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and related business systems.
  8. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
