Job Summary

Allen Instruments & Supplies, is part of the Empire Technology Holdings company. Empire Technology Holdings, LLC offers full productivity solution sets, including Trimble products, for the Heavy Civil (Sitech Southwest, LLC), Geospatial (Allen Instruments & Supplies, LLC), Data Modeling and Analysis (Take-off Professionals, TOPS) and Vertical Construction (BuildingPoint West, LLC) clients in select areas.

In this position, you will be working closely with your sales manager and will have responsibility for marketing, promoting and profitably selling Geospatial Positioning equipment and supplies to existing and potential customers. You will work closely with support personnel to create and maintain a strong, team driven effort focused on customer service excellence.

Upon completion of training and onboarding, your responsibilities will include:

Essential Functions

  1. Establish and maintain client relationships in order to grow profitable sales within assigned territory.
  2. Make regular in-person sales calls and visits to existing client sites in order to ensure client satisfaction and to maximize sales growth.
  3. Seek out prospective clients and business opportunities by phone, mail, email, and/or in-person communication.
  4. Stay current on existing and emerging product and technologies.
  5. Introduce and demonstrate new products to existing client base.
  6. Follow-up on all quotes to ensure that client needs are addressed. Document outcome of the proposed solutions.
  7. Reports competitive conditions and feedback from customers to management.
  8. Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner. Maintain a professional image through communication, personal presentation and vehicle that reflects well on the company.
  9. Complete sales call and expense reports on a timely basis in accordance with company policies.
  10. Maintain CRM software with up-to date information on client contact activities.
  11. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Continually look for new and improved ways to market services and products.
  2. Control all expenses within guidelines as outlined by policies.
  3. Forecast sales and help analyze market conditions and/or changes in assigned territory for maximum productivity and sales growth.
  4. Keep management personnel current on all competitive activity within assigned territory. 
  5. Relay any pertinent sales and rental information to the Sales Manager.
  6. Maintain up-to-date client call lists and other records.
  7. Attend sales and special meetings.
  8. Perform other duties as directed by management.
  9. Must accomplish periodic product and self-improvement training and certifications.
  10. Work within and promote corporate values.
  11. Maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record that enables insurability.
  12. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  1. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to work cooperatively with people and consummate sales transactions.
  2. Strong presentation skills.
  3. Knowledge of construction industry terms, standards and practices
  4. Ability to learn product lines and client operations.
  5. Technical aptitude sufficient to relate to technology applications.
  6. Ability to learn and operate sales and customer contact management tools.
  7. Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming to adhere to company policy.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  9. Ability to comprehend equipment specifications, price lists, catalogs, and common industry reference materials.
  10. Must be able to write legibly and perform common calculations quickly and accurately.
  11. Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  12. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.


Proof of High School Diploma or GED




  1. Minimum 1 year experience in customer facing role
  2. Prior Surveying experience required
  3. Experience with Trimble Surveying Equipment required
